Dan St. Germain
Stand-up specials
Loud, highly animated confessions from a guy who knows he's a mess.
Dan St. Germain is a large, bearded man who refuses to stay still. He leans heavily over the microphone stand, yelling out his punchlines with the intensity of a pro wrestler. His volume is a tool. He starts a bit at a normal volume, explaining an awful personal decision he made, and by the end of the thought, he is red-faced and screaming about his own stupidity. He paces, gestures wildly, and uses his size to contrast with the absolute lack of control he has over his life.
He works consistently in television comedy. He writes for celebrity roasts, including the televised roasts of Tom Brady and Rob Lowe, and contributed to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He also co-hosts podcasts about pro wrestling and the paranormal.
On the club circuit, he is the guy who goes up late in a showcase and wakes up a tired room just by being louder and more frantic than whoever went on before him.
He builds his sets out of his own wreckage. He talks about his weight, his mental health, and his romantic failures without asking for sympathy. He never plays the victim. Instead, he treats his bad behavior like a spectator sport. He sets up premises that sound like he is angry at someone else, only to reveal that he is entirely the problem. He stays at top volume so consistently that a room can sometimes get worn out, but he drops his voice just in time to deliver a quiet, self-damning admission.
