Geoff Tice
Stand-up specials
A cheerful Denver comic who favors goofy absurdity over cynicism.
Geoff Tice paces the stage with a wide grin, building his sets out of harmless absurdity rather than heavy commentary. He operates with the cadence of a guy trying to talk his friends into a prank. He will pitch an idea like filling a mailbox to the brim with loose glitter just to give a late-night vandal a magical experience. When he acts out an interaction at Popeyes, he doesn’t complain about the service. He just notes that the employees have the exact vibe of a high school teacher two weeks away from retirement.
He is a fixture in the Denver comedy scene and a regular at Comedy Works. That high-spirited approach makes him a frequent theater opener for comics like Nate Bargatze and Demetri Martin. He establishes a cheerful baseline for the crowd and then hands the stage over.
On his 2024 album Jokes with a G, Tice stays focused on upbeat self-deprecation. The material sticks close to home. He talks about new parenthood, second weddings, and fielding drunk late-night calls from his father. When recounting the chaos of his daily routine, Tice acts out the role of a happy, confused participant rather than an annoyed observer.
Before focusing entirely on standup, Tice spent years working full-time as a graphic designer. He still uses that visual arts background, occasionally stepping away from the microphone to write and illustrate children’s books.
