The title refers to a Scots term for being bold and reckless, though colloquially it is also used for anyone who seems a bit too full of themselves. Connor Burns takes that tension as his jumping-off point, examining the Scottish habit of pulling down anyone who gets above their station, while building a set out of tight jokes and deadpan observation. Recorded at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre during the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, the hour represents a victory lap for a comedian who bypassed the usual British television panel show circuit. Instead, Burns built an international touring audience through short stand-up clips posted online before filling theaters across the UK, Australia, and off-Broadway in New York. Released by 800 Pound Gorilla, it serves as his second hour-long special.
