Craig Ferguson carries the manic, stream-of-consciousness energy of his late-night television tenure directly to the stage. He skips the tight, polished setups of traditional stand-up in favor of loose, conversational tangents about shark anatomy, the historical inaccuracy of British-accented Romans, and the logistics of Helen of Troy. It is a high-movement, high-volume set from a host who had spent the last eight years practicing free-form monologue on network television.

Filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., the 2013 Netflix release captures Ferguson at the height of his talk show fame. The material bounces between his personal history, like the consequences of taking acid after twelve pints of Guinness, and structural absurdities in Hollywood, such as seat fillers and nature documentaries. The audio version of the performance later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.
