A sharp, unpolished hour of service-industry survival and family dysfunction.

Instead of polishing her material for a prestige network, Chicago-to-LA transplant Liz Zagone brought her debut hour to the Lyric Hyperion Theatre in Silver Lake, a venue where she has spent years hosting a popular open mic. Filmed in front of an audience that included her own family, the special is a loose, sharp-tongued distillation of the persona that won her a massive following on social media: a working bartender who is deeply tired of the service industry, bad dates, and internet comments.
Rather than running from the trolls who pick apart her appearance online, Zagone leans into her Italian heritage with self-deprecating bits about her arm hair. She spends much of the hour zeroing in on family dynamics, particularly her relationship with her sister who works as a spiritual doctor and doula. Zagone also recounts the grueling daily realities of restaurant shifts, a dry spell in her dating life, and the strange trials of being a dog mom. The set avoids polished theatricality in favor of casual intimacy, making it feel less like a formal performance and more like a venting session with a seasoned bartender after a double shift.
