Whitmer Thomas brings his childhood friends onto the stage to serve as a live band while he recounts growing up in Gulf Shores, Alabama, turning the hour into a hybrid of an indie rock gig and adolescent storytelling. The performance trades standard stand-up delivery for a loose group dynamic where original synth-pop and rock tunes break up bits about skateboarding accidents, pranks, and a birthday dinner at Benihana that went sideways.

Released on HBO in August 2026, the hour serves as Thomas’s second comedy hour for the network following 2020’s The Golden One. Co-directed alongside guitarist Clay Tatum and executive produced with Tim Robinson, the production blends live stand-up, archival home videos, and backing commentary from his bandmates, including his brother Johnny McCann.
