Aaron Aryanpur performs with the tightly wound energy of a guy who just wants five minutes of quiet. He is a long-standing regular on the Texas comedy circuit and a fixture of the Dallas scene. He plays clubs and corporate rooms across the country, earning quiet respect from other comics for finding new angles in the crowded lane of husband-and-dad material.

His bits rely on taking a mundane annoyance and tracking it until it sounds like an emergency. He will spend several minutes dissecting the unspoken rules of ordering a specific appetizer he hates, simply because he knows his wife will want to eat it. His stories are long and carefully paced, gathering momentum until he is practically shouting at the ceiling over a minor inconvenience.

He spent years working as a corporate graphic designer before pursuing standup. That background makes perfect sense when you watch him work. He builds a routine the same way someone might design a schematic, making sure every structural piece fits together before he finally lets his temper snap.

Turning points

  1. Creation of UT Dallas Mascot Temoc

    While studying graphic design at the University of Texas at Dallas, Aryanpur created the school's anthropomorphic comet mascot, originally named Blaze.

  2. Named Funniest Comic in Texas

    Aryanpur won the 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas contest, boosting his regional acclaim before becoming a full-time stand-up comic in 2013.

  3. 2015–2016

    Chaos Retained on Debut Album Recording

    During his live album recording at Hyena's, audience disruption and a falling patron disrupted the set, but Aryanpur embraced the chaos and kept it unedited on the released album.
