Terms of use
What you agree to when you use Brick Wall Comedy, in plain words.
Using the site
Brick Wall Comedy is an independent catalog of stand-up specials, and a letter about them every Wednesday. By using the site, you agree to these terms, including the YouTube Terms of Service (see YouTube below). If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
The catalog's writeups, taglines, comedian bios and topic tags are drafted by AI from published sources, such as the special's own listing, reviews and interviews. Nobody checks each one by hand, so some will be wrong. If a date, a name or a description is off, send a correction by email (see Contact below), and it gets fixed.
Accounts
You don't need an account to read the site. To subscribe, follow comedians, mark specials or make lists, you log in with Google; what we keep from that is in the privacy notice. If you want your account removed from our records entirely, get in touch (see Contact below).
The letter and alerts
If you subscribe to the Wednesday letter, you get it by email every Wednesday. If you follow a comedian, you get an email when they have a new special. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time, with the link in every email or from your profile.
Your lists
Lists you make are private unless you make them public. Anyone with the link can see a public list, with its title and description, and it's on your public lists page. Don't put anything unlawful in a list. We may remove a list that does.
YouTube
Brick Wall Comedy uses YouTube API Services to show video clips and their details: the clips play in YouTube's embedded player, and details such as a clip's title, length and view count come from the YouTube Data API.
By using Brick Wall Comedy, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).
What YouTube and Google may collect when you play a clip is in our privacy notice and the Google Privacy Policy.
Images
Cover images are promotional art from each special's distributor, label or streaming service, from TMDB, or a YouTube video's own thumbnail. We show them to identify the special, and they belong to their owners. Most load from those services' own servers. Some older covers load from our own image server, or from the site we first found them on.
Comedian portraits come from Wikimedia Commons, under each photo's own license. The credit is next to each portrait and links to the photo's details.
The illustrations in the Wednesday letter are AI-generated.
Questions about an image, or a takedown request: devkordes@gmail.com. We remove an image within two business days.
Links to other sites
Watch links and other links take you to services we don't run, such as streaming services and YouTube. Those services have their own terms and prices, and what's on them can change before our pages catch up.
No warranty
The site is free and provided as it is, without any warranty. Parts of it may be wrong, may change, or may be down at times.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
