She runs a comedy club like a room that cannot rattle her.

On stage, she has the resting heart rate of someone who cannot be surprised. She stands relaxed behind the mic stand, letting a setup linger until the room catches up, then cuts it off with a flat, clipped tag. When an audience gets uncomfortable, she does not soften the premise or talk faster to rescue the bit. She just tilts her head, looks at the table making noise, and lets the silence do the work. It is a pacing built on holding ground rather than scrambling for approval.

She is a regular on the club circuit, the kind of road comic who holds down weekend sets at rooms like the Laugh Factory in Chicago or Cap City in Austin without altering her tone. In her special, Ms. Teacher Lady, she skips theatrical hooks and stays firmly in the lane of straight-ahead standup that trusts plain joke construction.

Her strongest bits treat chaotic situations like minor administrative headaches. A story about getting caught with a weapon at an airport security checkpoint gets stripped of panic, played instead as an expensive chore. When dissecting disastrous dating encounters, she points out the indignities with dry irritation. The material can occasionally drift into familiar club relationship territory, but she keeps the bits afloat by refusing to play either fragile or defensive.

That presence comes directly from where she started. She spent over a decade teaching high school English on the West Side of Chicago before committing to comedy full-time. Years spent facing rooms of skeptical teenagers taught her how to manage a crowd without begging for attention, and the habit stuck.
