Costaki Economopoulos works at a deliberate, low-simmer pace. He stands flat-footed at the microphone, squints slightly into the lights, and unspools setups that sound like ordinary observations until a sharp turn exposes how ridiculous they are. He never yells, never dashes across the stage, and never begs for approval. When a joke catches a crowd off guard, he simply pauses, lets out a small, wry smirk, and drops a one-sentence tag that quietly doubles down on the premise.

He occupies the durable middle tier of American standup, the kind of seasoned draw who packs comedy clubs without needing the machinery of a streaming empire. Much of his crowd discovered him through syndicated morning radio, where his regular football commentaries turned his name into a staple for commuters across the country.

On stage, his material treats domestic headaches, late-in-life parenting, and petty frustrations with lean sentences. Every bit is pared down to its working parts, without filler or extended crowd work. The trade-off is that the set rarely ventures anywhere dangerous. He prefers a reliable structure to any move that might divide a weekend room.

Before spending decades touring the country, he was in graduate school in Georgia writing a thesis on political satire. He walked away to tell jokes in bars, but the habit of picking apart an idea never left his act.
