Kyle Dunnigan lives in the uncomfortable silence. Watching his act feels like attending a piano recital that goes intentionally wrong. He will sit at a keyboard, play a fluid, lovely chord progression, and use it to deliver a complaint about something mundane. Then he will stop playing abruptly and stare blankly into the crowd. He avoids traditional standup momentum, preferring to mumble, trail off, or contort his jaw into a massive underbite to perform as his lisping character, Craig.

On stage

He splits the difference between alternative comedy basements and viral internet fame. After years of doing absurdist character work, he built a massive secondary audience through face-swap filters. He tours theaters combining live standup with a screen that maps his face onto Sylvester Stallone, Bill Maher, or Joe Biden in real time.

He is a precise mimic, but he uses that tool to make famous figures sound like confused roommates. He will perform an accurate Joe Biden voice to talk about getting lost in a hardware store, or project his face as Sylvester Stallone to mumble about his daily routine.

He does not use his impressions for political commentary. He just likes the voices.

He spent years playing Craig Pullin on Reno 911! and won an Emmy for his music on Inside Amy Schumer. That genuine musical skill anchors the live show. He plays the keyboard just well enough to trick the room into thinking an earnest song is starting, right before he hits a discordant note and abandons the melody entirely.
