Rambling West Country pub yarns and slightly blue storytelling.

Cornish comedian Jethro brings his pub-honed storytelling to the stage in his first commercial release, delivering the cheeky, rural stand-up that made him a massive regional draw. He paces his act like a man holding court at a local bar, working through rambling digressions and punchlines that rely as much on his West Country delivery as the writing itself. The set leans heavily into character-based yarns, detailing a chaotic bus ride plagued by flatulence, a pub visit ruined by a dog bite, and a missionary stranded in the desert with nuns.
Filmed live at the City Hall in Salisbury, Wiltshire, the 1993 set captures Geoffrey Rowe transitioning from a local fixture to a national touring act. After decades of working the club circuit in Cornwall and Devon, he had recently broken through with an appearance on Des O’Connor Tonight. Released as A Portion of Jethro… Slightly Naughty, the performance bypassed traditional broadcasting constraints to find an audience directly on VHS, selling nearly 150,000 copies.
