Nick Hoff approaches the domestic landscape with the defensive posture of a husband who knows he is losing most arguments but refuses to go down without a fight. His comedy lives in the friction of early parenthood and the creeping realities of suburban domesticity. Rather than chasing high-concept premises, he focuses on the small, hyper-specific irritations of daily life, like trying to negotiate with his wife’s doctor or packing a flight carry-on with enough emergency provisions to survive a crash.

Recorded at the Omaha Funny Bone Comedy Club in Omaha, Nebraska, the 48-minute set captures Hoff at a key transition point in his career. After spending two years opening for Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy on their arena tour, he became the first comic to have a release co-backed by both of their respective record labels alongside Comedy Dynamics. The joint backing paid off, pushing the album to the top of the iTunes comedy charts upon its release in December 2017.

The performance thrives on a steady, self-deprecating rhythm. Hoff plays the mildly exasperated family man, spinning mundane frustrations like buying diamonds, managing a crap car, and role-playing in marriage into tight, conversational blocks.
