Greg Fitzsimmons brings a distinct East Coast hostility to the gentle realities of fatherhood. In his second showcase for the network, he details exactly why morning sex is a scheduling requirement for married couples, questions the strange ways his children inspire him, and airs out his frustrations with Los Angeles culture. The material points his aggression directly at the mundanities of middle age and organized religion.

The set premiered in March 2006 during the tenth season of the cable staple. Fitzsimmons was at a pivot point in his career, having recently left a writing and producing job at The Ellen DeGeneres Show that earned him four Daytime Emmys. Stepping back into his own voice, he used the year to launch his daily radio program on SiriusXM’s Howard 101, establishing the irritated, conversational style on display throughout the performance.
