Michael Kosta works the room like a guy used to winning, which tracks for a former professional tennis player who topped out at a global ranking of 864. He contrasts the strict physical discipline of a pro athlete with the nocturnal decay of a stand-up comic, working the front row to hand out his business cards to women, along with one specific guy who makes the cut. When he isn’t casually hitting on the audience, he offers highly impractical advice for surviving shark attacks and talking your way out of parking tickets.

Filmed at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater in New York City for season 15 of Comedy Central Presents, the 2011 broadcast catches Kosta a few years into his transition from collegiate tennis coach to Los Angeles comic. He spends the rest of the 21-minute runtime complaining about mothers migrating to Facebook, the realities of dating a vegan, and the lasting indignity of being the youngest child in his family.
