A strange half-hour of musical absurdity and playful audience threats.

Canadian comic Seán Cullen treats his 2002 half-hour less like a standard stand-up routine and more like a cabaret for the mildly deranged. He brings a bizarre, theatrical energy to the stage, breaking up conventional setups with improvised songs, sudden mimicry, and a looming physical presence. The set is anchored by absurd musical premises, peaking when he accurately imagines Bob Dylan being hired to write a theme song for the James Bond franchise.
Filmed for Comedy Central Presents, the taping captures Cullen establishing his solo voice after a decade-long run with the musical comedy trio Corky and the Juice Pigs. He spends the time playfully threatening the front row and leaning heavily into his acoustic chops. The performance eventually devolves into a dedicated, earnest musical tribute to pornography.
