Leo Allen and Eric Slovin use their half-hour slot to dismantle the traditional comedy duo. Rather than trading standard observations, they lean into the deadpan absurdity that characterized the early New York alternative scene. The standout segment is their time machine routine, a repeating loop involving Twinkies, Gatorade, and a pie to the face. Every time the sequence resets, the parameters change slightly, mutating a basic physical gag into a strange endurance test.

Aired during the fifth season of Comedy Central Presents, the 2001 set also includes their structural breakdown of “Who’s on First” and a bit known as the “Turkey Slapper”. The performance serves as a solid document of the pair’s offbeat rhythm. The industry was clearly paying attention, as the two men were hired as writers for Saturday Night Live the following year.
