Mucho Macho: En Vivo Desde Bogotá

Diego Camargo

Comedy Dynamics · Album · 2018

A veteran Colombian comic dismantles Latin machismo through domestic self-deprecation.

Camargo takes the archetype of the swaggering Latin male and turns it inside out, presenting machismo less as cultural armor and more as a cover for everyday incompetence. His working theory is that men refuse to ask for directions while driving because their brains crash when attempting two tasks at once, and that all the barroom bravado evaporates the moment there is any real risk of romantic rejection.

Recorded before a crowd of 450 at a club on the outskirts of Bogotá, the 2018 audio release marked his first record with Comedy Dynamics. Camargo arrived with two decades of Colombian broadcasting experience behind him, having hosted the regional edition of La Sopa on E! and built up the local circuit alongside the country’s first generation of club comics.

The material stays firmly in domestic territory, working through male waxing, mother-in-law friction, and the sensory overload of early parenthood. He treats well-worn relationship tropes by positioning himself as consistently outmatched, letting self-mockery carry setups that would otherwise feel familiar.
