Josh Blue spent years as the “Last Comic Standing” guy before a 2021 run on “America’s Got Talent” introduced him to a much larger, younger audience. In his fifth stand-up special, recorded at Comedy Works South in Denver, Blue leans hard into the logistics of living with cerebral palsy while raising pre-teens on his own. He jokes about having one good arm and 50% custody, leaving the audience to do the math on his parenting odds. The central thesis of the hour is that disability is not an exclusive club: “anyone can join at any time, you could be just one bad bike ride away”. It is this casual, unsentimental perspective that grounds his material. Blue transitions easily from the medical history of Botox (which was originally developed to treat cerebral palsy before being redirected to cosmetics) to a bizarre campaign to fix the nation’s acid reflux. Released by 800 Pound Gorilla Media in late 2024, the hour shows a comic who has long since moved past the need to explain his condition to the crowd. Blue is loose, frequently veering into crowd work and riffing, and completely comfortable taking swings at everyone from Joe Rogan to homophobic politicians.
