Daniel Lawrence Whitney had already established his sleeveless, redneck persona on syndicated radio and as the breakout member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, but this 2004 release was his first solo headlining special. Dressed in a torn flannel shirt and a camouflage cap, he delivers a rapid sequence of short jokes, crude anecdotes, and catchphrases pitched directly to his target audience. It is a calculatedly lowbrow performance, running on Southern stereotypes, toilet humor, and the sheer momentum of his delivery.

Filmed on a stage in Michigan, the 66-minute set captures the comedian right as his career was skyrocketing toward mainstream ubiquity. The same year this DVD hit shelves, he would launch the sketch series Blue Collar TV on the WB network. On stage, he runs through bits about the absurdity of getting hit by a train, the difficulty of passing in PlayStation football games, and a woman suing a county because a shark bit her husband. The special, directed by Michael Drumm and released by Image Entertainment, eventually went platinum on DVD and proved that the caricature could easily carry a solo hour.
