Most people know H. Foley as the heavier, more volatile half of the hit podcast Are You Garbage?. His debut stand-up special, Half Hour, aims to prove he has actual stage chops rather than just a talent for riffing about regional gas stations and knockoff sneakers. Filmed at Comedy on State in Madison, Wisconsin, the set is structured around self-deprecating humor, zeroing in on the daily indignities of being a large man with a catastrophic diet. Foley spends much of his stage time leaning into classic joke-and-tag writing, steering clear of any high-concept meta-comedy. He details the struggles of compulsive overeating and the domestic anxieties of a suspicious husband with a heavy, blue-collar cadence that feels like a throwback to club comedy of the nineties.
