Before he became a fixture of international panel shows, Adam Hills was just a guy out of Sydney trying to convince a room full of strangers that things are mostly fine. Life Is Good captures the comic early in his pivot away from morning radio and back to pure stand-up, relying on the contagious optimism and loose crowd work that would eventually become his calling card.

Touring through the 1998 Melbourne International Comedy Festival at the Melbourne Town Hall, as well as the Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringes, the performance is a straightforward presentation of his conversational style. He keeps the audience banter frequent and the cynicism at absolute zero.
