Stand-up couples usually keep their acts separate or collapse into cute domestic bickering. Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher instead treat their marriage as an offensive alliance, culminating in an improvised tribunal where they haul real-life couples onto the stage to grill them about their relationship flaws. Leggero sits in a velvet armchair, eight months pregnant and delivering dismissive insults with immaculate poise, while Kasher pace-matches her like a caffeinated prosecutor looking for inconsistencies in testimony.

Filmed at The North Door in Austin, Texas, the 2018 release was split into three half-hour installments. It came near the end of a joint tour while the two were expecting their first child. At the time, Leggero was finishing the third season of Another Period, while Kasher had recently wrapped his Comedy Central series Problematic.

The solo sets establish their opposing perspectives on family life. Leggero questions whether men are still biologically necessary beyond fertilization and mocks the bourgeois compromises of adulthood. Kasher leans into fast-talking neurosis, looking back on his Hasidic upbringing and deaf parents to reckon with his dread of raising a daughter.

The concluding segment, titled The Couples Roast, works because neither comic softens the blow. Bringing audience volunteers to the stage under the guise of marriage counseling, Leggero and Kasher tag-team their subjects with quick insults, from gaming addictions to emotional apathy. Critics singled out the joint crowd-work session as the most effective portion of the run, establishing a format they later carried over to The Endless Honeymoon Podcast.
