Jeff Allen’s appearance on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend captures a comic finding the exact lane that would sustain him for the next two decades. After starting in late-seventies Chicago clubs and spending years battling addiction, Allen got sober in 1987 and became a born-again Christian in 1997. By this late 1999 broadcast, he had retooled his act into clean, observational frustration about domestic life.
