Williams paces the stage with relentless momentum, sweating through his suit as he delivers a memorable case against Michael Jackson converting to Islam (“Half your face is pork!”) and acts out white people leasing their children.

Filmed at the Atlanta Civic Center in April 2006, The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1 served as his HBO debut. At the time, he was best known as Money Mike from Friday After Next, but this performance codified his pimp persona and shot him into mainstream stardom. He mixes political commentary on the Iraq War and Martha Stewart with heavy physical exertion, peaking during a club sequence that features a full dance routine and an in-person cameo from Lil Jon. The pacing occasionally stalls when Williams pauses the comedy for earnest motivational speeches, but his sheer magnetism easily carries the lulls.
