Recorded during a ten-night run at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, this hour leans heavily on the physical character work and vocal mimicry that turned Gilligan into a UK television fixture. He does not try to reinvent the stand-up wheel, preferring to elevate familiar observational premises with sheer stage energy.

The strongest routine of the set focuses on his pre-fame job selling pricey candles at a Jo Malone shop in West London. Gilligan demonstrates the exhaustion of code-switching, shifting between his natural South London vernacular and a prim retail voice to appease middle-class shoppers.
