Ladies And Gentlemen

Wali Collins approaches stand-up with the steady internal rhythm of a former jazz drummer, easing through observational sets where mild misunderstandings carry the load. He tries translating a standard knock-knock joke into the clicking consonants of Xhosa, turning phonetic confusion into an odd, patient back-and-forth. The rest of the hour leans into the mechanics of domestic negotiations and New York sidewalk chaos, touching on line dancing and early marriage without raising his voice or working blue. Comedy Dynamics released the 57-minute audio album in November 2015, capturing a veteran club regular decades past his stint hosting Comedy Central’s Stand-up Stand-up.
