K. Trevor Wilson takes the stage with the low-key confidence of a guy who knows exactly how much space he occupies. Standing as a self-described “Man Mountain of Comedy,” his presence is physically imposing, but his delivery is deeply relaxed. He leans into a slow, rhythmic style of storytelling, letting the pauses do as much work as the punchlines. The central joke is often his own lumbering existence, whether he is explaining why he serves as a literal unit of measurement for his friends or describing the distinct logistical hurdles of showing up drunk to a church service.

Filmed during the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, the half-hour special debuted on Canada’s The Comedy Network in March 2017. At the time, Wilson was experiencing a massive surge in recognition, largely thanks to his role as Squirrely Dan on the breakout sitcom Letterkenny, which had recently won Best Comedy Series at the Canadian Screen Awards. While TV fans were tuning in to see the actor behind the character, Bigger in Person serves as a reminder of his deep roots in the Canadian stand-up scene. The set leans heavily on self-deprecating childhood memories, religious upbringing, and awkward social encounters, all told with a dry, grumbling charm.
