Damien Lemon excels at taking everyday irritations and pushing them until the logic completely unravels. His 2014 set thrives on this kind of conversational escalation, turning standard premises into hyper-specific grievances. Whether he is breaking down the ego trip of a failed novelist writing a Yelp review or explaining exactly why he dreams of being intimate with a commercial hand dryer, his delivery remains quiet and measured.

Filmed at the Royale in Boston as part of Comedy Central’s third season of The Half Hour, the twenty-minute set captures a working New York comic earning a larger spotlight. At the time, Lemon was already a familiar face from MTV2’s Guy Code, but this stage time allowed him to stretch out on longer concepts. He spends a significant portion of the act outlining his deep resentment for destination weddings, before shifting gears to detail the specific dread of spooning after a one-night stand.
