Sean Tweedley relies on a relaxed, conversational style of frustration to pick apart the small absurdities of modern life. He spends a significant chunk of his set targeting the bizarre warnings stamped onto consumer packaging. There is a lengthy bit questioning the utility of a warning label telling you not to put Gold Bond foot powder directly into your eyes, and another examining the passive-aggressive hesitation of “may contain” disclaimers on chocolate bar wrappers.\n\nFilmed for the sixth season of CTV’s long-running stand-up showcase Comedy Now!, this half-hour set caught Tweedley at a peak moment in his early-2000s career. At the time of its broadcast in June 2003, he was a fixture of Canadian late-night television, serving as the head writer and producer for CTV’s Open Mike with Mike Bullard while hosting his own companion program, The Warm-Up Show.
