Comedy Now!: Shaun Majumder - On the Edge

Shaun Majumder steps up to the mic as a twenty-something Newfoundlander looking to make his mark on national television. Filmed for the second season of Canada’s Comedy Now! television series, On the Edge captures a young comic leaning on energetic storytelling and physical observation before he became a recognized face in network broadcasting.

At the time of this 1998 taping, Majumder was transitioning out of his early work hosting children’s shows for YTV and performing in the Toronto sketch scene. Stripping away the ensemble, he uses the broadcast to test his solo material and piece together the act that would eventually secure his long-running tenure on This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
