The 1st One

Dave Temple attacks a room with the cadence of someone who used to sell corporate software and realized he could close harder by telling the truth. Before doing stand-up full time, the Philadelphia native worked in insurance and banking sales, and that background bleeds into his timing: direct, unyielding, and impatient with polite small talk. His material leans into everyday friction, from the transactional mechanics of moving in together on House Warming to the social boundaries of Gay White Friend and the frustrations behind Speak English. Temple recorded the audio album live at The Comedy Works in Bristol, Pennsylvania, releasing it in late 2017 as he built momentum across New York clubs and launched his recurring showcase The Comedy Jawn. The title was purely logistical: Temple wanted an unadorned numbered catalogue so that whenever someone asked where a bit originated, he could point straight to the first volume.
