Daniel Muggleton walks onto the stage with a blunt demeanor that can occasionally read as arrogant to the uninitiated. For his debut audio release, Let Me Finish, he tackles familiar club topics like sex, dating, pornography, and racism, handling them with a dry, sneering perspective that sets him apart from more eager-to-please acts. He is less interested in making the crowd like him than he is in getting them to sit with the discomfort of his punchlines.\n\nThe set was recorded live at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia, during an encore performance of his Sydney Comedy Festival show in late 2016. Released in 2017 by the American label Comedy Dynamics, the album made Muggleton the first Australian comic produced by the company. It caught him at a transitional point in his career, fresh off his debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe and just as he was establishing his signature tracksuit-wearing stage persona. The crowd at the Sydney venue handles the tension well, even when the jokes lean into uncomfortable territory.
