Kelly Pryce describes herself as a mythological creature in Los Angeles because her forehead still moves and her chest is real. Her debut stand-up album, Life with a Pryce, released in July 2020 by Stand Up! Records, avoids the typical soft-focus lens on motherhood and family life. Pryce, a Sacramento native who previously wrote for the late-night talk show Lopez Tonight, brings a blunt perspective to domestic chaos.

Throughout the 54-minute audio set, she focuses heavily on the less-documented indignities of marriage and parenting. Notable segments include her insistence on getting an epidural, pointing out that she was not sober when the baby went in, so there is no reason to skip drugs on the way out. She also details a panic about dying in an embarrassing way, such as crashing a car because her hand is wedged inside a Pringles can. Other bits tackle her mother-in-law presenting her with a scrapbook of graphic childbirth photos and the mechanical challenges of maintaining personal grooming while heavily pregnant.
