Long Love The Keane

Patrick Keane opens by rejecting the unwritten rule that parents hold a monopoly on exhaustion, arguing that staying single into your forties comes with its own brand of weariness. Taped at the Dry Bar Comedy club in Provo, Utah, during the platform’s 2017 debut season, the 38-minute set captures Keane working under the venue’s strict family-friendly rules without losing his natural, deadpan cynicism. Instead of feigning cheer, he leans into everyday awkwardness, drawing on background material from his years in Orange County, Montana, and Asia. The sharpest sequence revolves around the mutual dread of flying, where he and his girlfriend turn a routine flight into a shared exercise in quiet panic.
