The setup of this show is entirely interactive: Matteo Lane takes a stool at the front of the stage, grabs a stack of index cards containing questions submitted by the audience, and spends the next thirty-six minutes diagnosing their disastrous romantic lives. The peak of the set comes when he fields a question from a lesbian couple dealing with an unsupportive mother from Ohio named Beth, a moment that manages to feel surprisingly sweet amid the usual barbs.

Filmed at the Comedy Cellar in New York City and directed by Chris Caso, the special arrived on YouTube in November 2023. By this point, Lane had bypassed the traditional network-acquisition model, building a massive digital following through self-released stand-up clips and his first advice special the previous year. His comfort in the cramped basement club is obvious; he handles the room like a seasoned bartender, shutting down over-sharers and occasionally showing off his classically trained opera vocals—notably singing a dramatic rendition of the word slower to punctuate a joke.
