Tom Green presides over a polite Burbank comedy showcase with the calm of a reformed anarchist. By 2016, he had spent years grinding road clubs as a touring stand-up, settling into a rhythm where traditional club mechanics collide with his impulse to derail the room. Filmed at the Cisco Stage in Burbank, California, the third season of Comedy Dynamics’ showcase series puts Green at the microphone across six episodes. His job is ostensibly to introduce rising comics, including Liz Miele, Matthew Broussard, Mo Welch, Paige Weldon, and Caleb Synan, while throwing to interstitial sketches featuring a talking puppet called Mr. Microphone. The guest spots are standard club auditions trimmed for streaming, but Green uses his host sets to test oddball premises of his own, drifting between lineups into riffs on aging, nineties survival, and the hygiene risks of holding a koala in Brisbane.
