Streets Aren't Watching

Tom McCaffrey treats the absurd premise of an alt-comic rapping with complete irreverence, letting his hip-hop persona TMC lean into the indignity. Instead of trying to impress listeners with flow, he uses boom-bap rhythms to air petty grievances, arguing that Scarface is vastly overrated and taking aim at comedy industry posturing. Comedy Dynamics released the 31-minute audio album in April 2015 alongside McCaffrey’s film Adventures in Comedy. It serves as a follow-up to his 2010 musical parody project Get Rich Or Move Back In With My Dad, bringing along peers from the New York scene: Mark Normand appears in a skit as an exasperated talent agent, while Aisha Tyler and Rob Cantrell join in across the tracklist.
