Mostly Kid Stuff
Comedy Dynamics · 2017 · 47 min
Clean club comedy built on backhanded compliments and stubborn toddlers.
Warren B. Hall builds his set around the awkward corners of polite conversation, zeroing in on backhanded compliments, what it means to be mixed-race during the holidays, and the hostage dynamic of raising a four-year-old. He skips club shock value in favor of clean observation and deliberate timing.
Filmed at the Dry Bar Comedy club in Provo, Utah, the 47-minute set caught Hall after two decades on the road doing club weekends, college shows, and overseas military tours. Working within the venue’s strict no-profanity format, he leans into everyday friction rather than sanitized fluff.
The bits move past parenting into bad relationship habits, couples who stay together out of sheer inertia, and the peculiar indignities of small towns and roadside petting zoos.
