Chris Weir’s debut special tackles the mundanity of Midwestern life and the absurdities of regional tourism, like the Creation Museum, with a dry, self-deprecating perspective. He finds humor in the highly specific dread of living in Kentucky, finding his wife’s “hair wallet” practical joke, and managing OCD and depression, which he compares to driving a Jeep.

Filmed at Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati, Ohio, the 2022 half-hour release marks a milestone for the local favorite, who previously won the Funniest Person in Cincinnati contest. Weir keeps the energy intimate and conversational, weaving through quick-hitting stories about nude beach etiquette, getting a vasectomy, and the unequal struggle of raising a kid versus owning a cat. The special was produced and distributed by indie comedy label Four by Three.
