Lucy’s hosting segments rely on the dry cynicism she spent the previous decade perfecting, giving the festival a familiar sensibility.

The television broadcast coincided with a visible shift in her career. While on the ground in Canada, she performed at the Eve’s Tavern all-female showcase, an event nicknamed the Lilith Fair of comedy. The same year, she made her feature film debut in the domestic movie Crackerjack.
