Liza Treyger

Comedy Central Records · Album · 2015 · 50 min

A blunt half-hour album about terrible sex and unapologetic laziness.

Liza Treyger treats bad sex not as an embarrassing misadventure, but as an intolerable labor dispute. Her rule for intimacy is straightforward: if she is not having an orgasm, nobody is. She moves through the set with total indifference to politeness, whether she is explaining why she will never be a good nanny or recalling the time she arrived at a Miley Cyrus concert in a stretch limo and let hundreds of screaming teenagers think she was the pop star before stepping out to ruin their evening. Recorded at the UP Comedy Club in Chicago, the 35-minute set was released by Comedy Central Records in August 2015, arriving the same week her television half-hour debuted on the network. Treyger was in the middle of transitioning from the Chicago club circuit to New York, carrying material rooted in unenthusiastic sexual favors, weed, and a refusal to feel guilty about anything.
