2 Cool 4 School

Lucas Bohn builds his set around the twitchy energy of a former elementary school teacher who spent too much time trapped in a room with cartoon logic and ten-year-olds. He wonders what would happen if Elmo dropped the gentle falsetto to order a beer, and he details the misery of attempting bench presses next to grunting bodybuilders at Gold’s Gym.

Filmed at the Dry Bar Comedy club in Provo, Utah, the 42-minute performance caught Bohn as he moved from campus bookings and cruise gigs onto streaming platforms. Because Dry Bar requires clean material, the show relies entirely on expressive act-outs and relatable suburban absurdities. He recounts getting into ill-advised bar fights, watching bicycle cops try to look menacing, and adopting pets.

Clips from the taping found a massive audience on Facebook and YouTube, generating tens of millions of views and making the set an unexpected calling card for his touring career.
