I'm A Rescue
Comedy Dynamics · 2017 · 38 min
Clean physical comedy centered on domestic life and social blunders.
Tom Clark pitches his marriage as an adoption arrangement, treating himself like a skittish shelter dog that requires patience, routine, and constant supervision. He backs the conceit with broad physical clowning, bounding across the stage to dramatize everyday awkwardness. Taped in Provo, Utah, the 39-minute performance was released in February 2017 as the debut special for Dry Bar Comedy. Clark had spent years working the club circuit and booking late-night appearances on Conan, but this set placed him directly under the platform’s strict clean-room rules. Much of the routine focuses on mundane discomforts, ribbing the crowd about suburban Utah street gangs, acting out an intrusive airport security screening, and grumbling about texting shorthand flattening human conversation into nonsense.
