In her debut stand-up special, Esther Povitsky returns to her hometown of Skokie, Illinois, to investigate how her unique relationship with her parents turned her into a comedian. The special intercuts documentary-style footage of her family interactions with a sharp stand-up set filmed at the Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles, where she explores existential questions, her ‘mature’ name, and why she compares herself to a slice of pizza in the bedroom.
